Sheila Hicks is one of the few artists currently working in West Cornwall, who was born and grew up in the area. She was trained at the Penzance School of Art. Pure Water Colour is her favorite medium in which to work, which lends itself to the atmospheric effects of nature and the subtlety of children. Shiela is a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists, Association of the Penwith Society of Artists, St Ives and Who's Who in International Art. She has had ten paintings hung in the Paris SALON IL Le Grande Pallias. Also exhibited in Brittany, the Royal Institute Gallery in London, Royal Cambrian Gallery in Wales and West of England Gallery, Bristol. Several one woman shows including the Framers Gallery, Morrab Road, The Passmore Edwards Art Gallery, Newlyn.
